66 delegates gathered for the 15th VDMA Cooling Tower Conference on 30th November 2023 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Entitled, "Evaporative cooling ready for future! – politically correct, resource-efficient, digital," the event aimed to cover key issues including the tensions between political and regulatory requirements, energy and resource efficiency, along with technological development and digitalisation. 

The conference, organised by VDMA Services GmbH with the VDMA Recooling Technology Group in the Process Engineering Machinery and Apparatus Association as the technical sponsor, had a "From Practice – for Practice" approach, offering a platform to discuss current developments and requirements with both experts and colleagues. Six specialist lectures and three thematic tables grappled with the current challenges facing the industry. Eurovent Certita Certification’s Sales Manager, Tim Kroeger, had the pleasure of hosting one of the thematic tables, covering the “Benefits and advantages of third-party certification by Eurovent Certita Certification.”

With delegates able to choose to attend two of the three thematic tables, Tim had the opportunity to host his break out discussion twice. Both sessions began with delegates able to view a short presentation, as well as a discussion paper with questions. This led to a lively debate on the benefits of certification with a range of viewpoints put forward. Tim ended each session by handing out summaries of the topic and a recent article printed in ESM Mag (European supermarket magazine), covering certification of refrigeration systems.

The Cooling Tower Conference offered plentiful time to network and access to high quality technical presentations.
