Over in Copenhagen, Denmark, the doors opened at the Aalborg University for the two-day, 43rd AIVC conference, entitled "Ventilation, IEQ and health in sustainable buildings." Held on 4th & 5th October 2023, the event ran alongside the 11th TightVent conference and the 9th venticool conference. The event was developed by the International Network on Ventilation and Energy Performance (INIVE) on behalf of the Air Infiltration and Ventilation Centre (AIVC), alongside the Building and Ductwork Airtightness Platform (TightVent Europe), and the platform for resilient ventilative cooling (venticool), with the host, Aalborg University Copenhagen.
Eurovent Certita Certification’s Dr. Ali Alexandre NOUR EDDINE, joined the impressive line-up of speakers, presenting on "Hygienic Air Handling Unit Certification Program: the New Necessity for Guaranteed Indoor Air Quality," in the afternoon of the 4th October.
Focusing on the time we spend in commercial and residential facilities, the conference highlighted how important it is for society to look at how these spaces impact the environment and the people within them. The conference was aimed at building and facility managers, maintenance managers, energy managers as well as experts and researchers concerned with adopting sustainable, and healthy, practices for organisations. The conference focused on creating buildings that, in their design, construction or operation, reduce negative impacts on our climate, reduce their occupants’ risk of related health problems, and provide a more pleasant indoor environment, as well as increasing occupants’ satisfaction.
To this end, the conference consisted parallel sessions largely devoted to:
The conference consisted of a mixture of presentations, and structured sessions around the conference topics of:
Smart ventilation, IAQ and health
Building and ductwork airtightness
Ventilative cooling – Resilient cooling
The conference lived up to its promise of engaging discussions on ventilation, indoor environmental quality, and health within the context of sustainable buildings. Thank you goes to all the attendees, and the organisers of the conference for welcoming Eurovent Certita Certification and providing a presentation slot. It was a privilege to exchange knowledge and ideas on ensuring top-notch Indoor Air Quality, through certified products.
