Eurovent Certita Certification (ECC) was proud to be part of Renodays 2023, a brand-new event created by the organisers of the Batimat-EquipbaieMétalexpo and Interclima trade shows, to be a driving force behind comprehensive, high-performance home renovation. Held from 12th-13th September at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the ECC team not only had a stand at A09, but were also involved in the extensive seminar programme.
With fluctuating energy bills, 5.6 million homes in France in fuel poverty, and the French government's ambitions to renovate 300,000 homes a year by 2030, and 700,000 a year between 2030 and 2050, building renovation is at the heart of the economic and social debate. There was plenty of appetite for the event, which boasted 5000 visitors, 143 exhibitors and 220 conference sessions.
Billed as a forum for the global and efficient renovation of housing, Renodays 2023 aimed to break away from the traditional trade show format. The event highlighted existing renovation solutions, disseminated best practices, encouraged young people to take up careers in the industry, and brought the whole ecosystem together around a common issue. Renodays welcomed visitors including professionals from the building and property industries, trade unions and professional organisations, political representatives, industry local authorities and students.
Over on the stand in exhibition hall 6, the ECC team, alongside PRODBIM and LearnMeUp relished the opportunity to talk to delegates. The ECC team focused on the benefit of choosing certified products, and the certification services offered to manufacturers. The PRODBIM team helped visitors and manufacturers understand the BIM and digitalisation services available, including the PRODBIM BIM library. With the new PRODBIM offer, manufacturers can greatly simplify their business and increase their market reach. And finally, Ludovic Malick from Learn Me Up, offered a captivating virtual reality experience at the stand during the event.
When it came to the conference programme, ECC was involved in the ‘Masterclass’ sessions, with two presentations covering the core themes of energy performance and decarbonisation. "Evaluation of energy performance and air quality of ventilation systems for a carbon-free approach", was presented by ECC’s Ventilation Department Project Manager, Sébastien Raffier, on 12th September at 2:50 pm. The presentation focussed in on the importance of choosing certified products to guarantee both system energy efficiency and Indoor Air Quality, a topic that is central to the decarbonisation of existing buildings.
Next up, on the 13th September, at 2.50pm, ECC’s Special Projects Manager, Sophie Bocquillon, partnered up with Jean-Louis Berçaïts, President of the Lemasson group, for their presentation "NF PAC certified technologies: geothermal energy at the heart of decarbonization". Sophie gave a whistle-stop tour of the certification of geothermal heat pumps under the NF mark, with Jean-Louis following up by explaining why HVAC professionals should specify an NF-certified heat pump.
With the inaugural Renodays event over, it was clear to see that the renovation revolution is underway. It was a great opportunity for the teams at ECC and PRODBIM to show how certification and digitalisation can support manufactures and construction professionals on the road to net-zero.
