The Eurovent Product Group ‘Commercial Refrigeration Equipment’ (PG-RDC) has released a new Recommendation on market surveillance for direct sales refrigerators which presents practical tips to facilitate effective compliance monitoring.
This new Eurovent Recommendation 14/7: ‘Market surveillance for direct sales refrigerators’ aims to enhance the enforcement of Ecodesign and Energy Labelling requirements for refrigerating appliances having a direct sales function placed and put into service on the EU market. It is principally addressed to suppliers and market surveillance authorities.
The first five chapters provide general legislative background and an overview of the specific requirements which suppliers are subjected to. Chapter 6, particularly aimed at market surveillance authorities, presents practical tips to facilitate effective compliance monitoring.
Maurizio Orlandi, Chairperson of the Eurovent PG-RDC, mentioned: “The Product Group participants put all their own experience in drafting this Recommendation providing suggestions, interpretations and point of attention related to the testing of this very complex range of products. We did this with the aim of facilitating the work of the market surveillance authorities in belief that this would support and improve the implementation of Ecodesign and Energy Labelling regulations in a fair and transparent market to the benefit of the sustainability of our products and the final interests of all the involved stakeholders.”
The Eurovent Product Group ‘Commercial Refrigeration Equipment covers refrigerated display cabinets (remote and integral units), walk-in cold rooms, commercial beverage coolers, ice-cream freezers and refrigeration packs.
