Eurovent offers KEYMARK Heat Pump scheme
Eurovent Certita Certification has added the Heat Pump KEYMARK to its portfolio of certification programmes, creating a one-stop-shop for heat pump certification. The introduction of the KEYMARK scheme brings the big four heat pump certifications of Eurovent Certified Performance, NF, MCS and KEYMARK together for the first time under one certifying body.
Developed by the heat pump industry in 2015, the KEYMARK is a voluntary certification, offering an independent European mark (ISO type 5 certification) for all heat pumps, combination heat pumps and hot water heaters (as covered by Ecodesign, EU Regulation 813/2013 and 814/2013). It is based on independent, third-party testing and demonstrates compliance with product requirements as set in the Heat Pump KEYMARK scheme rules, and with efficiency requirements as set by Ecodesign Lot 1 and Lot 2.
KEYMARK advantages include:
- A single certificate open to all interested parties
- Third party measurements using test points from Ecodesign (EU regulations 206/2012, 813/20133 and 814/2013)
- Factory production control (FPC) and check of quality management
- Transparent and strong to create trust in the marketplace
- Mutually accepted by all participating Certification Bodies
- No minimal requirements (indirectly, due to Ecodesign, minimum requirements will apply on eta s, noise).
The Heat Pump KEYMARK scheme is owned by the European Committee for standardization (CEN), with Eurovent Certita Certification acting as one of the ‘Empowered Certification Bodies’ able to certify products under the scheme. The Heat Pump KEYMARK also joins other Eurovent certified KEYMARK schemes including those for Thermostatic Radiator Valves and Solar Systems.
One-stop-shop for heat pump certification
With four heat pump schemes now available from one certifying body, manufacturers can choose to certify their products under one, all, or a combination of certification schemes. For manufacturers this brings a number of benefits. Firstly, Eurovent Certita Certification has optimised the certification process to allow manufacturers to achieve for all four certification marks without any redundant testing and evaluation. Secondly, this integrated approach not only streamlines the certification process for multiple marks, but offers options for combined audits to optimise the ongoing surveillance process. How to apply for the Heat Pump KEYMARK programme
Manufacturers already certified under the KEYMARK Heat Pump scheme can transfer their certification to Eurovent for free.
