Spanish manufacturer, DECACLIMA, produce certified, optimised air treatment units for projects that need custom solutions with high technical requirements. Offering products for those working in exceedingly demanding sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, food, automotive and the naval industry, the manufacturer knows that their clients require reliable products that perform exactly as expected.
With a commitment to creating energy efficient products and a strategy focused on reducing carbon footprint, waste, and environmental impacts; performance and energy efficiency are core values for the company. Third-party certification felt like a natural next step to build customer confidence and enhance credibility. DECACLIMA therefore put its GC range of Air Handling Units (AHUs) forward for the Eurovent Certified Performance mark, with certification officially granted on 21st September 2023.
For manufacturers considering entering the certification process, there will be a number of questions to contemplate. From how certification brings added value to the company and its clients, to practical questions around the certification process. Eight months down the line, and with the certification process still a fresh in mind, we caught up with Ricard López, DECACLIMA’s Commercial Director, for a chat about the certification experience and the value it has already brought to the company.
Ricard López: For us, certification from Eurovent Certification is a significant milestone in ensuring the quality and performance of our Air Handling Units. We decided to pursue this certification for several reasons such as credibility, market access, competitive advantage, and compliance with the regulations.
Ricard López: We chose Eurovent Certified Performance over other certification marks because it's widely recognized in the HVAC industry, particularly in Europe and Spain where our AHUs are targeted. This certification gives customers confidence in our product's reliability and performance, providing us a competitive advantage over non-certified products in the market.
Ricard López: The certification process was rigorous but rewarding. It involved thorough testing and evaluation of our AHUs to ensure they met Eurovent's strict performance standards. This process required a high degree of communication and transparency between our engineering team and Eurovent Certification experts, to address any issues and optimise our AHUs' performance.
Ricard López: For new manufacturers, DECACLIMA would recommend starting the process early to ensure a full understanding of all the requirements. Seeking expert guidance, conducting preliminary testing, documenting thoroughly, team collaboration and being flexible were key strategies for navigating the process effectively.
Ricard López: Eurovent Certified Performance demonstrates compliance with industry standards, enhancing the credibility of our products in the market. Also certified products are perceived as higher quality and safer than non-certified alternatives, providing a competitive edge.
Overall, Eurovent certification adds value by enhancing market acceptance, improving product quality, and contributing to long-term business success.
Ricard López: Clients can be assured of the performance of DECACLIMA units through the evaluations carried out by independent laboratories. GC range units have been assessed extensively in obtaining Eurovent Certified Performance. This certification provides a guarantee for clients that the products meet the highest standards of performance and efficiency, verified by a transparent and reliable certification process. The Eurovent certification reflects DECACLIMA’s ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction, providing reliable and efficient solutions for air conditioning and air treatment needs.
In addition, DECACLIMA’s certified units are designed with the PLUG&PLAY principle, simplifying the connection, and featuring all control systems necessary for any application. These control systems allow humidity, temperatures, and pressures to be adjusted precisely to ensure the optimum environment. These units also use communication protocols such as ModBus, BACnet, KNX, etc.
Ricard López: We tailor our customer service to the needs of each project, providing comprehensive advice from the initial design phase to the implementation of the installation. DECACLIMA air treatment units are used in applications in high demanding sectors such as the healthcare, pharmaceutical and food sectors, as well as the automotive industry and other similar types of industries. Projects include a ABBOT Laboratory (Granada), Gregorio Marañon Hospital (Madrid), ROVI Laboratory (Madrid).
