Spain’s International Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Exhibition, Climatización Y Refrigeración (C&R), returned on the 14th-17th November at the IFEMA MADRID exhibition centre. Now in its 20th anniversary year, C&R is the most important trade event in Spain’s industrial and commercial air conditioning, heating, ventilation, plumbing and refrigeration calendar, welcoming some 34,000 visitors and 379 exhibitors from 54 different countries. The team from Eurovent Certita Certification (ECC), ProdBIM and Eurovent Market Intelligence (EMI) could be found at booth 7F02F in Hall 7, while ECC’s Auditor and Client Manager, Noelia Sonrel, presented "Reliable Refrigeration: Certifications Driving Efficiency, Savings, and Sustainability," at the C&R FORUM on the 14th November.
Held every two years, C&R showcases the very best of technological innovation, sustainability and energy efficiency. This year, C&R made a triumphant return, surpassing its pre-pandemic edition and standing at almost double its 2021 edition. The 2023 trade show had a particular focus on sustainability, shining a light on the equipment innovations that are introducing performance gains, energy savings, improvements in consumption levels, and a leading the way when it comes to the impact on the environment.
Eurovent Certita Certification was delighted to have a technical presentation during the C&R FORUM conference programme. Prepared in collaboration with the Sectorial and Professional Associations that make up the trade fair’s Technical Committee, the C&R FORUM offered a deep dive into the main challenges faced by the sector, as well as providing a forum for discussion and debate. The programme included topics such as changes related to the European regulatory framework, decarbonisation, the implications of the adoption of new refrigerants, zero emissions buildings, intelligent climate control, energy rehabilitation, as well as solutions aimed at improving indoor air quality and environmental health.
At 11.30am on 14th November, Noelia Sonrel took to the stage to deliver, “Reliable Refrigeration: Certifications That Drive Efficiency, Savings, and Sustainability.” Fitting in perfectly with the 2023 sustainability theme, Noelia’s enlightening presentation explored the crucial impact of certification on refrigeration system performance, energy efficiency, and economic savings. Presenting three very different case studies featuring dry coolers, CO2 gas coolers and evaporators, Noelia took delegates on a journey through the importance of stated vs real-life product performance, and the impact on energy use and fuel costs.
Those making the most of the exhibition could drop by stand 7F02F to meet the ECC, ProdBIM and EMI experts, to explore benefits of certification, discover more on digital services and how they can enhance the value of manufacturers' certified products, and dive into the latest market intelligence on industry trends. Our colleagues from Eurovent Association also made base at the stand, to ensure the whole Eurovent family was in attendance.
Our thanks go to the organisers of C&R and of course all those who attended the presentation and dropped by the stand. The C&R exhibition offered an impactful opportunity to discover the solutions and trends that will mark the development of the HVAC, refrigeration and plumbing industries.
