From the 26th-29th February, Eurovent Certification and Eurovent Middle East partnered up for the HVAC R Expo Saudi, at the Rhiyad Front Exhibition and Conference Centre, Saudi Arabia. As part of The Big 5 Saudi, the largest and most influential building and construction show in the MEASA region, the event was expecting a total of 55,000+ participants and 1300 exhibitors, both locally and internationally, from 47 different countries.
This year’s show saw Eurovent Certification and Eurovent Middle East hold a joint booth in the exhibition area at stand 4E-73. The team took part in two speaking opportunities on the opening day, as part of over 60 ‘Big 5 talks.’ Markus Lattner, Managing Director of Eurovent Middle East was the first up in a panel discussion on ‘Navigating the future: Sustainable innovations in HVAC systems.’ While Eurovent Certification’s Senior Technical Manager, Dr. Ali Alexandre Nour Eddine closely followed with a presentation on, ‘What is the real cost of an air-handling unit?’
The show was launched in 2010 with a mission to fully equip Saudi Arabia’s construction sector amidst its huge development plans. With four days of presentations, discussion panels, workshops and a busy exhibition, HVAC R Expo Saudi brought together players from across the industry under an ambitious conference programme.
Joining Markus on the panel for ‘Navigating the future: Sustainable innovations in HVAC systems’, was Sherif Albegirmy, Senior Project Director of Saudi Binladin Group Construction, as moderator; Firas Obeido, Chief Executive Officer of E2E Energy Efficiency Arabian (SMARTAE); Hussein Shoaib, HVAC and Energy Projects Department Head of Innovative Facility Management Services; and Anders Norén, Strategic Alliances Executive of Priva Building Automation Group.
The panellists were steered through several topics including:
Next to take to the podium with a dedicated session on air handling units (AHUs), Dr. Ali Alexandre Nour Eddine’s presentation focused in on the real cost of AHU ownership, both in terms of life cycle and operational cost. The presentation included a case study and simulation results on performances, energy consumption, and energy labelling. Dr. Ali’s presentation highlighted the importance of certified performance and gave valuable insights on how to get real value for money when purchasing an air handling unit.
We would like to thank the organisers, all those who visited the stand at 4E-73, and those who listened to our presentation and the panel discussion.
The HVAC R Expo Saudi was co-located with Stone & Surface Saudi Arabia, FM Expo Saudi, Windows, Doors & Facades, and Saudi Glass. The event showcased products from the complete construction cycle in one place, at one time.
