On Thursday 28th November industry professionals descended on the Building Centre London, for the November edition of the Building Services Forum. Held in association with BSEE magazine and with certified manufacturer Mitsubishi Electric as headline sponsor, Eurovent Certification joined the sponsor line-up and presented at the one-day briefing, which was dedicated to exploring the low carbon heating and cooling options available to hit the UK’s decarbonisation goals.
As part of a focused technical programme, Ian Butler, Business Partnership Manager, presented, “Underperformance in Refrigeration – a technical challenge”. The presentation drew on Eurovent Certification’s recently released white paper, ‘Broken trust: Energy efficiency and the refrigeration industry’, and explored the thorny issue of product underperformance. With new research revealing a potential 31% gap between a product’s claimed and expected performance, the presentation provided food for thought as it delved into the real repercussions of product underperformance.
Ian also took part in the live panel debate at the end of the day, in which industry experts tackled the tough issues facing the sector. Each participant started with their key takeaway from the event, before the debate opened up on the skills gap and ways to entice young people into the industry.
Eurovent certification also had a tabletop stand in the breakout area, which proved beneficial for networking and discussing the value of certification, especially for those who had questions after Ian’s presentation.
It was great to see many Eurovent certified manufacturers playing a key role, with the afternoon sessions presented by Mitsubishi Electric, Ideal Heating and S&P UK Ventilation Systems Ltd.
Our thanks go to the BSEE team for an extremely informative event.
